anis dayya (co-founder & chief executive officer)
a seasoned international executive with two decades of experience building consumer companies and brands, anis earned his gmp at harvard business school. mr. dayya began his career at proctor and gamble, later joining the al fozan holding company where, in 2009, he created tech upstart zonik. zonik became the first company in the middle east to offer fully legal music and movie downloads through high-end retail locations and kiosks, growing exponentially to achieve over $1 billion a year in annual turnover while employing more than 500 people. as piearcings co-founder, anis is leading the charge to develop and market the worlds first micro-hearables.
troy calderwood (chief technical officer)
an extroverted nerd able to rapidly shift between geek-speak and real english. troy has enjoyed a three-decade-long career as a software/hardware architect and c-suite executive—culminating in the successful growth and leadership of x-com systems up to and through its strategic acquisition by bird technologies. his particular expertise in RF analysis and tuning, DSP processing, and firmware development have helped piearcings to achieve performance objectives never before realized in a consumer hardware device so microscopically small. while no stranger to 80 hour work weeks, troy also finds time to support his community as a volunteer firefighter and e.m.t.
susan paley (advisor)
as the first employee and ceo of beats by dr. dre, susan strategically and operationally guided all aspects of the company's unparalleled growth, making it the #1 headphone globally and the fastest growing brand in ce. susan is a builder. as a 15+ year veteran in consumer technology she’s brought some of the most innovative, disruptive audio products to market in the past decades including projects with jbl, gm, chrysler, fiat, vw, hp, quiksilver/roxy, nickelodeon and universal music group. launching new businesses, developing new product categories, and transforming existing businesses through innovation are her passions.
patsy nigh (co-founder & ip creator)
patsy’s three decades in business have spanned three industries (real estate, retail, and product development). during the 2000’s, she lead product development for a contract ce design agency, spearheading notable projects for brands such as denon, sony, voxx international, polk audio, mcintosh labs, boston acoustics, saudi telecom, and others. patsy wrote piearcings initial patent in 2012, and is named co-inventor on six of the seven patents piearcings has filled to date. her technical writing capabilities and ability to see and perceive the future before it happens makes her an incredible asset to the ip practice of the organization.
ken pilot (advisor)
ken pilot is a fashion industry veteran with over 30 years of experience. he began his career with macy’s, later exiting to gap where he held ascending roles including dmm of gap denim, dmm of banana republic, president of gap outlet, president of gap international and ultimately president of gap brands global. following gap, ken held c-level positions with ralph lauren and later american eagle. presently, pilot is assisting piearcings to establish partnerships with major fashion and jewelry labels globally from his home base in nyc.
alex schudy (marketing intern)
alex is presently a media studies major at uc berkely, focused on the intersection of fashion and emerging technology. as a card-carrying member of the ‘digital natives’ generation, she helps to ensure that piearcings designs are on-trend while serving as piearcings chief social-media strategist and an authentic brand ambassador.
david warner (electrical engineer)
b.s. electrical engineering, specialty in digital audio engineering. safety and quality assurance with specific experience in iec 60601 and fcc part 15. named inventor on patents for acoustic reflectometry calibration, schema for micro-hearables user interface, and system for battery optimization through dynamic host-slave swapping. dave’s left brain activities are as accomplished as his right . . .he’s also an accomplished photographer, heavy metal drummer and multi-instrumentalist, and, at 6’-5” tall and pushing 270#, the world’s most unlikely wakeboarder.
mark castle (software engineer)
mark leads piearcings software, firmware, and application development teams. he’s a bit of a savant, having accomplished more in his short time on planet than most engineers twice his age. mark’s insatiable curiosity and impressive development chops are helping to push the boundaries of what can be accomplished to exploit the world’s smallest computing form-factors, developing sleek and full-featured human interfaces to the connected world.
jj pieschl (mechanical engineer)
multifaceted and multidisciplinary expert in the engineering and fabrication of nearly anything, jj excels in both the hard sciences as well as the arts. he is a named inventor on multiple patents, an accomplished guitarist and an incredible digital animator. in his spare time (not much these days), he fabricates custom harley davidson choppers. jj is an anomaly — the kind of super-talented freak that doesn’t fit the standard moulds. cool!
martin ortiz (industrial engineer)
a graduate of renown facultad de arquitectura urbanismo y deseño in cordoba, argentina, martin returned to miami’s design district to soak up all things ‘cool’ for a decade or so before becoming serious about actually earning a living. he’s a design rock star whose laid-back approach to business and life are a refreshing and calming influence in boardrooms and design charrettes that are often filled with over-caffeinated type-a dragons vying for attention. martin’s consistently-award-winning designs are amazing to behold.
